WELKIN PRIZE 2026 - SHORTLISTED
Let’s go out again

by Tacilim Oréfice

Yellow telephone

Hi, I know you don’t answer my calls anymore because I set fire to your house... I didn’t know it was flammable... your cat, I mean. The gas I knew about, not Sugar Ball. And your car? Well, that was my fault for forgetting to pull the handbrake. I didn’t mean to hit your grandfather... and the wall... I really did forget my wallet at home… I’ll pay you back, soon. Sorry for punching your uncle... and your father... but despite all that, it was a remarkable first date, don’t you agree? Please call me, babe. Let’s go out again!
